WELCOME

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is an honour for the Organising Committee of M. bovis 2022 to formally invite you to M. bovis 2022, the Seventh International Conference on Mycobacterium bovis, taking place in the beautiful and historic city of Galway on the wild west coast of Ireland from 7-10 June 2022. Unfortunately, due to the global pandemic, the conference which was due to take place in June 2020 had to be postponed to June 2021 and again until June 2022. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have cause but the health and safety of our speakers, delegates, organisers, and sponsors is of paramount importance to us.

We would like to thank our speakers, delegates, organisers, and sponsors for their continued support of the conference. We believe that we have put together a highly informative and innovative conference programme for 2022. Thanks to everyone's efforts we have attracted a high number of delegates from a wide range of countries.

Building on the success of Cardiff 2014, M. bovis 2022 will gather together scientists, policy makers, veterinarians and industry stakeholders from around the world with the aim of identifying constraints and providing practical solutions for the control and eradication of the M. bovis. The conference will bring together experts on a wide range of M. bovis related themes including: the science/policy interface, epidemiology, surveillance, diagnostics, wildlife reservoirs, social science & economics, vaccination, practical delivery, and innovation for TB control and eradication.

To maintain the health and safety of all involved, the conference will abide by all public health measures applicable at the time of the conference. We would ask that all those intending to come to M. bovis 2022 familiarise themselves with travel and public health measures that are in place. The M. bovis 2022 Organising Committee will continue to monitor the situation in Ireland and tailor our plans accordingly for a safe in-person conference in June 2022. We will provide updates on public health guidelines as they change. Please visit www.gov.ie for the current rules for travelling to Ireland.

Attendees can expect a seamless delegate experience and cost-effective, easy access to Ireland’s shores. Accommodation is blocked around the venue to ensure a wide variety of choice to suit all budgets. Please visit www.mbovis2022.com for information on conference hotels and transport links within Ireland.

Guidance on updating stream abstracts will be provided towards the end of February.

Experience nature along the magnificent Wild Atlantic Way which stretches over 2,500 km of rugged coastline with spectacular scenery from County Donegal to the north and County Cork to the south.
